Personal Statement

My name is Tiftiany Octavia, I come from the city of Tangerang, Banten. I am student at Bina Nusantara University and has fourth semester. I majored in English Literature faculty of Humanities and take streaming English for Business Professional. I took English Literature because I like to learn English since I was in Elementary School and I want to speak English well. At the beginning of the English language course, I'm not too interest, but, after some time I follow the course of the English lesson, I was interested to learn English properly and seriously, that's when I started to love the English language. The reason I took business streaming because I want to have a great business in the future. Currently I already have a small business, I make a decoration on cakes and cupcakes for a birthday, anniversary, or anything. Namely cake topper and cupcake topper. I opened this business since the last November 2016 and it comes from my own ideas and initiatives. In senior high school I majored in science, I had been a member of the flag raisers troops heritage in high school, I like it because its activities are not boring and I want to create something new in my life or make a new experience for me.

In college, I learned a lot about how to do business and market our business properly. I add knowledge to my own business. Major in English Literature, it is not only about how to speak English correctly, but also taught a variety of things, for example, good pronunciation, discussing the psychology, discusses how to write a good poetry, history and culture about English, learn about taking some design software in the second semesters, like Adobe illustrator and InDesign.

After graduate, I will use my knowledge both in English and business for my future. I will make the business that related to my ability, for example, English language courses. Other than that, I also want to work in good company because my business is a side job. A lot of experience that I learned at Binus University as English literature student, I will use my knowledge in the best possible future.

Find a Gift

We can’t deny that the search for the right gift for others is a difficult thing to do. Other than that there are various reasons why it is difficult to find a gift, for example because their work until late at night and too busy or they don’t have much time for going to some gift store. Not only for a worker, but sometimes students also, or maybe everyone that need to find a gift with the easy way. Maybe some of them were already looking for a gift, to the mall or some gift store and there are many things out there, but it is difficult to choose items of interest to your friends or your friends something need. 

Due to the reason, we made a mobile application that can help people to find a gift. This application called “ Find a Gift “ , which you can download from your smartphone, you can download it from iOS or Android. The item list in Find a Gift updated daily, and this application is very easy to use. You can download in App Store or Play Store, after that you open it by registering a brief biodata to make an account. What is the function of making an account? if you find a gift on this application, and then of course you bought it, your account function is to buy some gift in this application which will entry into your shopping cart in our application. With a little bio of yourself, the seller who are in the application will determine the destination address where the things will be delivered. After the application was opened, you will see several options, there are gender, age and your budget. After you fill that options, you can click the word “ search “ and the gift that related to your options will be seen, you make an order and then your payment transaction with the seller objects.

This application can be used in anywhere or anyplace, as long as you have an internet connection you will connected to open and use it. Other than that, because this is a mobile application and of course you using it in your smartphone and then your smartphone is always by your side anytime, so you can use this application in every place that you want.

When you feel confused to search a gift for your friends or somebody, but you can’t go out to search in a gift store or a mall, or you’ve been looking for the gift but it’s really difficult to choose an items that your friend likes or needs. You do not have to worry, and you can open our application on your smartphone and then you search what you want to find there.

We do not determine the age, the target of our application are all the people and there is no age limit, because everyone can use this application as long as they want to find a gift, go ahead, and this makes something quickly and easily.

I think this application is very helpful for those people who have difficulty in finding a gift, don’t need hard difficult to go to out of the house in order to find and buy gifts for someone, you just sit by holding your smartphone and choose their own gifts as you wish and needs. Users get the advantages that it becomes easier to find a gifts, shorten time looking for a gift, don’t waste time driving around the stores to looking for gifts, and no longer need to think of a budget as herein provided object according to your budget.

Personal Narrative

My name is Tiftiany Octavia. I was born in Tangerang on October 23^rd, 1997. I am 19 years old. I was graduated from Yuppentek 1 Senior High School. Almost everyone and my friends call me “ Tipaw”, it is my nickname since Junior High School that was given by my friend. Ti means Tiftiany (my first name) and Paw means Bakpaw (steamed bun), my friend give the name Tipaw because they said that my cheeks like steamed bun. Starting from Junior and Senior high school, until now I’m a college student my nickname still available. But, some people call me “ Via “.

My hobby is listening to music, I like Pop and Jazz music, one of my favorite Jazz singers in Indonesia is Tulus. I don’t know why I could really like Tulus so much, since he released his first album in 2011. Every songs and lyrics that he created are very easy listening and very touching, one of his advantages is the Indonesian language that he made in the lyrics of the song is very good, although, sometimes it sounds strange to me but I still like to enjoy it again and again. I have three albums of Tulus, first in 2011 called “TULUS”, second in 2014 called “GAJAH”, and the last one in 2016 called “MONOKROM”.

After I graduate from Bina Nusantara University as an English Literature scholar, I want to work in a good company and a comfortable, good environment and salary. I think a good company will give me a better career path, and usually will provide good professional development, companies that discipline in time there is no pressure work piling up. If I work later after graduation, I want a company that I live to work was convenient, I don’t want to work in my office if the environment does not support, for example, can be anything that causes it, could be due to a coworker, boss of my own or even a job itself that makes me uncomfortable there.
